    Have to agree with Glynn on the financial value of KDP Select. Pagereads are consistently 35% to 50% of my revenue, and I have yet to demonstrate an ability to do that well by going wide. I get the eggs-in-one-basket argument, but as it stands I can get out whenever I want, so I’m staying in until other distributors can show me to a competitive audience.

  • I know that not all readers have or want a Kindle. Before I had one, I was disappointed if a book was only available on Kindle. It is easier now that we can read Kindle books in a web browser on a computer, but I still prefer to read a book on an ebook reader, not caring which one. I make my ebooks available widely, so that no one is missed out because they don’t have the right device. I would rather have it that way than being exclusive to Amazon. But I can see that for some books, Kindle only can bea better earner. What we really need is Amazon to not stop ebooks being published elsewhere if on Kindle Unlimited.
